Pizzas are roasted typically flat, circle-shaped surfaces of dough topped with tomato sauce, cheese, and optional, other toppings. All regular pizzas have dough, tomato sauce, and cheese. So, pizzas are just dough with tomato sauce, cheese, etc. In simpler form, they’re cheese-topped flatbreads.
Pizzas have a delicious history that dates back to the Greeks, Egyptians, and Romans. However, the pizza we eat today originated in Italy, somewhere in the 18th century. The early pizzas were simple and made with only a few basic ingredients like dough and cheese. As it became more popular, bits of food were added as toppings, and it became “part of Italy”. Today, pizza is a very popular food, one reason because it is quick, and there are countless variations of this meal, from cheese to spiced olives, from needle-thick crust to cauliflower crust, from air to a pizza with lots of cheese, spiced olives, and a needle-thick cauliflower crust.
