Video Games Should Not Be Played Often

Video games should not be played often.

I know that this is a hard rule to follow.

But why? Yes, both you and I have played at least 2 hour’s worth video games by now. Video games should not be played often because:

  • it is too time consuming

Video games…If you decide to play one round, you will end up playing at least 10! That is because often you will make a mistake or two, and then you want to correct it. Or you end up being talented at the game and want to earn more good stuff. Also, you might find the game interesting after a “GAME OVER!”. The possibilities are endless.

  • your mind will wander off

When you play video games, you will think of new strategies that you might want to use. You will also talk to your friends about it (such as “hey, did you earn that cool sword yet”). Then you will not be able to concentrate on other things, like listening to teachers in class or even making a simple art craft.

  • your eyesight will grow worse

Eyes aren’t a basketball- they can’t possibly be treated badly. Punch a hard ball, your fist will hurt. But punch the eye, your eye will…anyhow, as eyesight grows worse, you will have to wear glasses, and that will lose many privileges, such as they might slide off when you jump. They could also hurt your face if you lie face down.

  • it will not help you learn things that will be useful in real life

What did you learn from playing video games? That the 30 level cannon is actually worse than the 11 level one? That mushroom stew can give you lots of energy? In real life, more improved cannons, are, well, more improved. Humans have brains that can fix errors. And yes, mushroom stew can give one lots of energy, but how much stew would you need?

If you really do want to play video games, then limit your playing.
