  • “Hey, there!” A police officer yells. A blue truck stops with a screech. “Yes, sir.” A man in a red cap answers. “You have been caught speeding at a rate of 135 km an hour.”
  • “Hello, I would like the box of fruit tarts right there,” a lady with a purse says to a bakery clerk. “This box? Okay. You can pay right there. Have a great day.” The lady answers, “Thank you.” Then she walks to another person. “Excuse me?” She interrupts. “That is okay, miss. You paying for this, correct?” The man asks. “Yes, I’m purchasing this,” The lady answers. “Okay, tap your card right here, and you may have the box.”
  • “Okay, Division 8, listen.” Ms. Brown announces. “Today we will do scribble art. Who can tell me what scribble art is?” A boy in a gray shirt raises his hand. “Yes, Trevor?” Ms. Brown asks. Trevor answers, “You make a scribble and color in the holes.” “Exactly! Trevor, please hand out the paper.” Ms. Brown says. She gives Trevor a stack of white paper.
