In the morning of Thursday, June 22 2022, a missing submarine was found by an underwater vehicle after a four-day search. All five people who were last seen to board the sub are thought to be dead after the sub explosion. This submarine was missing more than 600 kilometers off the coast of Newfoundland. The submarine pieces were found approximately 500 meters from the Titanic wreck. “On behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the entire unified command, I offer my deepest condolences to the families,” the official, Mauger, said in a news conference.
What Happened First?
There was a company named OceanGate that let curious travellers pay money to go on a submarine and tour the wreck of the Titanic. Each ticket costed millions! Five people boarded the sub, unaware of the consequence. Hamish Harding, an excited journeyer and explorer; French Paul Henry, Pakistan Nargeolet Shahzada Dawood and his son, Suleman, and last, the CEO of OceanGate, Stockton Rush, went on. “These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world’s oceans. This is an extremely sad time for our dedicated employees who are exhausted and grieving deeply over this loss.”, OceanGate said to CTV News.

Support For The Five
In the noon of Thursday, more than 5 boats remained at the sad scene. The international air and sea search provided a large Canadian contribution. “The outpouring of support in this highly complex search operation has been robust and immensely appreciated,” Mauger said. “We’re also incredibly grateful for the full spectrum of international assistance that’s been provided.”
